Our Story – Why We Started Lebanon Leaks
Lebanon’s government operates with minimal transparency. Corruption is systemic. Journalists face pressure and threats. Whistleblowers have nowhere safe to go. Citizens are kept in the dark about decisions that affect their lives, their money, and their future.
Lebanon Leaks was founded to change this. We recognized a critical gap: brave individuals with evidence of corruption had nowhere safe to go. Traditional media faced pressure. Government channels were compromised. International platforms didn’t understand the Lebanese context.
We built Lebanon Leaks to fill that gap. We created a secure, anonymous platform where evidence of corruption could be submitted safely, verified thoroughly, and published responsibly. We combined journalistic expertise with security technology to create something Lebanon had never had before: a truly independent platform for exposing institutional corruption.
Today, Lebanon Leaks has published over 500 verified documents, sparked 15+ government investigations, and informed millions of Lebanese citizens about corruption that affects their country. But our work is far from over. Every day, we receive submissions from brave individuals who believe Lebanon deserves better.
